: Reverend Billy Graham Evangelist Preaching Final Sermon In Public July 2006 Baltimore Maryland Message Entitled The Reason Jesus Came Franklin Cliff Barrows George Beverly Shea
Don's coffee was a little harsh this morning but it helped as I struggled out of bed, not too warm yet for soup. I'm thinking, "What can I throw into a pot?" It really doesn't really matter what it is, if the colors match and it has the proper mix of soft, crispy and chewy and will go well with crackers. Soup hides a multitude of scraps. Once I take care of the food thoughts, I SWITCH TO SOUL FOOD THOUGHTS. Now I am ready for a time alone with my heavenly Father, my bible and prayers that flood the whole area around me. Hushsssssss it is my devotional time.

Foot ~ in ~ Mouth
If you can believe it, I often have the nastiest taste in my mouth, I only realize it after I take my foot out. It doesn't seem to matter if I have my shoe on or if all of my toes are bare, the taste is the same. Now I can get my foot in very easily, I just open wide and give a little shove and in it goes, or sometime I actually think it walks up my body and jumps in all by itself without any help at all. How ever it happens, I am left with the after taste. Am I the only one with this problem?
Because I do this writing thing, words come too easily often to my lips, spread to my fingertips, and end up in a general blood letting at the worst, or simple belittling spilling onto paper. Whether written or vocalized, once seen by other eyes and heard by other ears, it is here to stay and no shredder can destroy the evidence. So the bad taste lingers.
Now what to do, after gagging on the foot in mouth, chalk it up to a lesson learned? Beg for forgiveness; make that new start with an empty clean rinsed mouth, and washed pure thoughts, for what is in the heart (and thoughts) comes out of the mouth. Surely God will wrestle this fault away from me, It may leave marks, I hope it shows. That may, because of His mercy, take care of my part.
What about the "foot sharing" others have had to experience. Many consider words of remorse cheap and it may take a visible life change to convince some; that from this moment I mean to keep my foot on the floor where it belongs, my tongue off the things that are out of my realm. I will give my concerns and thoughts to God to handle and not burden others, who surely are wondering about me anyway!
Amen?
Psalm 19:12-14
~
None of us knows our faults.
Forgive me when I sin
Without knowing it.
Don't let me do wrong
On purpose, Lord,
Or let sin have control
Over my life.
Then I will be innocent
And not guilty
Of some terrible fault.
Let the words and my thoughts
Be pleasing to you Lord,
Because you are my mighty rock
And my protector

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to
> seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who
> call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our
> spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.. We have exploited the poor
> and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
> We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists
> and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and
> called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it
> politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
> We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
> freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our
> forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our
> hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free.
> > Amen!'

Who Owns Your Heart?
Prayer Help
If you are willing to be still before God long enough and often enough for Him to search your heart, and you experience genuine repentance and revival, you can be the ONE God uses to bring spiritual awakening in our day. One person can make a difference.
Read 2 Chronicles 16:9. God is looking for one whose heart is completely His. Will you be the one?
Following are some suggestions to get you started as you seek to repent and be clean and useable by God for His glory.
Personal Repentance
•Ask the Lord to search your heart for unknown and unconfessed sin (Psalm 19:12; 139:23-24)
•Ask God to bring you to a point of genuine repentance (Psalm 51; Isaiah 1:15-19; Matthew 4:17)
•Ask God to give you clean hands and a pure heart. (Psalm 24:3-4; 51:10, 12; Jeremiah 17:7-8, 29:12-13; 1 John 1:8-9)
Personal Revival
•Pray for the Lord to restore His joy in your heart through personal renewal and revival (Psalm 1:1-3, 5:3, 8, 11:7, 15, 32:1-2, 51:12-13; Matthew 6:33)
•Pray that through personal repentance you will be revived and refreshed in God’s Holy presence and that you will be equipped for every good work. (Acts 3:19; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:21-24; Hebrews 4:14-16)
•Pray for God to breathe a fresh breath of His Spirit into your life and witness (Ezekiel 37:11-14; Acts 1:8, 2:46-47; 2 Corinthians 2:14-17)
National Spiritual Awakening
•Pray for God’s people to answer His call to pray for National Spiritual Awakening (2 Chronicles 7:14; 16:9; Jeremiah 29:7; Ezekiel 22:30; John 15:5,7-8,16)
•Ask God to open wide the doors for the gospel to spread swiftly across the nation (Acts 8:1,4; Colossians 1:13-14, 4:3; 2 Thessalonians 3:1; Titus 2:11-14; I Peter 3:15)
•sk God to draw the multitudes of lost people to seek Him so they may find Him (Isaiah 55:6-9; Acts 2:37-41, 46-47; John 3:14-16,4:29-30,39)

Ode to coffee
Ode to Coffee (My morning vice):
Speaking of the physical not the spiritual, the thing most special to me after family, food, shelter, and of course insurance, is coffee. It gets me out of bed in the AM; I love the swirl of it, as it turns from rich brown to a soft, almost ecru when I add cream. It emits a gentle warm glow from my cup; it fills me with expectations and promises . It is my day starter, my pedal pusher, my on button. Sometimes it sets my teeth on edge, that’s when I take a bite of the day I’m facing swallow hard and get on with it!

I am 73 years young
on a good day!
My perspective on life is oh, say, about 42 years old give or take…(I dream),
I have belonged to Christ since I was nine years old.
I do have a nickname, you can read about it on my fuller profile below. The outside me is so misleading; the inside me
still finds life interesting, and I am curious, adventurous, eager for new things, ready for the next step and sometimes I'm daring!
God Has blessed me with a creative spirit, I love to write and I consider myself a “word doodler”, I also paint, read, make jewelry, and sing in my church choir. I work with the children of my church in the AWANA program. I work in my flower gardens until about July, after then it is no longer fun. Not too much in to housekeeping, dust is so boring, on the same level as hominy. Other than those two things, everything else in my world is wonderful!
I am blessed.
